| WPCNJ, founded in 1972, is a multi-partisan organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in elected and appointed positions in government, protecting reproductive freedom, and promoting equal rights for women. |
| Governor Christie vetoed bi-partisan legislation that would have restored funding for women's health centers in New Jersey. The bill would have saved tens of millions of dollars for taxpayers, generated millions of dollars in revenue from federal sources, and most importantly, provided access to routine, preventive and lifesaving health care for working families. Every argument against the bill has been debunked. We just can't say it any more clearly... EVERYBODY LOSES! This "Friday at Five" maneuver may have shaken up our plans for the weekend, but it has not shaken our resolve. Our love of summer weekends, precious as they are, will not distract us from our commitment to protecting New Jersey families. We are willing to work as long and as hard as we need to because, for us, this is not about politics; it is about people. Please continue to call, write, and email your legislators. And stay tuned...this battle is far from over. |
